Supreme Drums Orange is a comprehensive acoustic drum virtual instrument designed to cover the vast majority of drum use cases in music production, film and trailer scoring, and game audio. Carefully selected drum kits and individual instruments ensure broad stylistic coverage, from modern productions to cinematic and interactive sound design.

Beyond traditional production workflows, Supreme Drums Orange is also fully optimized for use with electronic drum kits, delivering highly responsive and expressive playability. The library is designed to be expandable and integrates seamlessly with Supreme Drums Blue, effectively doubling the available drum types and sonic possibilities.

Supreme Drums Epic V2 Engine

Supreme Drums Orange is powered by Sound Magic’s latest innovation, the Supreme Drums Epic V2 Engine — a newly designed hybrid modeling drum engine. The engine supports up to 65,536 velocity layers via MIDI 2.0 and can render an unlimited number of round-robin variations, resulting in an exceptionally natural and organic drumming experience.

At the core of the engine is Freeform Layer V2, a proprietary technology that goes beyond traditional velocity-layered sampling. While it fully exploits the high-resolution velocity data of MIDI 2.0, it also significantly improves realism under MIDI 1.0. For example, the snare drum provides 127 velocity layers even in MIDI 1.0, ensuring smooth dynamics and detailed response across all playing intensities.

Advanced Modeling with Compact Size

Supreme Drums Orange V2 is modeled from an 87 GB original sample set, distilled into a highly efficient 680 MB library without compromising sound quality or detail. The library includes 13 complete drum kit pieces and over 33 individual drums and cymbals.

Years of research and development were invested in ensuring the modeling engine faithfully reproduces the character, depth, and nuances of the original recordings. Instruments that are especially sensitive to velocity transitions — such as snare, kick, hi-hat, and ride — utilize a very high number of velocity layers, delivering a dramatic improvement in expressiveness over previous versions.

Physical Drum Modeling & Customization

Unlike conventional sample libraries, modeling provides exceptional playability and flexibility. The new Physics section in Supreme Drums Orange allows users to:

Change drumhead and shell materials
Adjust drum diameter, depth, and tuning
Control head tension and resonance

This gives users near-limitless freedom to create and customize unique drum sounds tailored to their musical needs.
