At the heart of Neo Piano Yosemite are 2 Virtuoso Grade Pianos, selected under the same exceptionally strict standards as our flagship collections. To qualify, a piano must possess a distinctive and charming timbre, be captured with the highest recording quality, and achieve a full 127 velocity layers under MIDI 1.0. This ensures refined dynamic precision, expressive control, and a playing experience that feels truly alive.

Full Featured MIDI 2.0 Virtual Instrument

A key innovation in Neo Piano Yosemite is its full feature support for the latest MIDI 2.0 standard. Building on this foundation, we’ve developed two groundbreaking features: Freeform Layer and EZ Gesture technology. EZ Gesture leverages MIDI 2.0’s high-resolution controller messages to track user’s hand movement, recognize specific gestures, which can be mapped to switch modes, change presets and banks, or control internal plugin parameters—all with intuitive movement.

AI Powered Freeform Layer V2 Technology releases the full power of High Resolution Velocity

Freeform Layer is a new technology which not only uses the high-resolution velocities of MIDI 2.0, but also not limited to velocity layer. In traditional velocity layer, a layer must assign to a specific velocity value. Freeform layers break this limit, and it can be assigned to whole velocity range and can mix with other layers and also use filter to process it. This gives the sound much more possibilities. The overall result is like a combination effect of multi velocity layers and round robin samples. You will get a unique sound every time you touch the piano.

In Freeform V2, we introduced AI, enabling a significant increase in velocity layers and greatly enhancing dynamic expressiveness. The data shows a 2× increase in velocity layers under MIDI 2.0, and up to 8× increase under MIDI 1.0.

Neo Piano Yosemite also supports high resolution pedal message based on MIDI 2.0, this makes the pedaling experience smoother. In Neo Piano Yosemite, polyphony aftertouch are also used to determine the style of playing piano.
